Abstract: The relevance of this study stems from theoretical gaps in the study of the most contemporary phenomenon in socio-economic development – ​​the emergence of a new digital technological paradigm. The lag of economic theory behind the development of digital transformations in capital accumulation, production, distribution, and consumption creates the problem of ineffective government regulation of the digital technology sector, which exacerbates the technological gap with advanced countries. The purpose of this study is to analyze the theoretical foundations of the emergence of a digital technological paradigmin the Russian economy, uncover its economic essence, and identify the factors and prerequisites, effects, and barriers to its development. The research methodology incorporates evolutionary, systemic-structural, institutional, and interdisciplinary approaches, allowing us to consider the digital technological paradigm as an independent phenomenon, not entirely ontologically identical to the traditional understanding of a technological paradigm. The main results of the study include an analysis of the emergence of a digital technological paradigm in the Russian economy and the identification of the constraints and drivers of this process.
