Abstract: The observed increase in macroeconomic and geopolitical tensions in many countries around the world is leading to significant changes in the grain market. One of the problems that has arisen against the backdrop of the introduction of sanctions against Russia, the largest supplier of wheat to the global market, is the increasing shortage of wheat on the global market due to the disruption of supply chains through the Black Sea straits to the Mediterranean. In this regard, issues related to the study of the functioning of the global grain market under sanctions restrictions and permanent geopolitical crises deserve special attention. This article presents an analysis of the current state of the global grain market and identifies the key factors determining its development in the medium term. Recommendations are proposed for improving the institutional regulation of the Russian grain market in order to optimize the logistics chains of grain supplies to friendly countries.
