Abstract: This article reflects the research of patents in the field of mining engineering from the Federal Institute of Industrial Property. The purpose of our study is to identify the prerequisites for the creation of an all-Russian engineering center for the development and production of mining equipment in Kuzbass based on patent analytics. Kemerovo Oblast - Kuzbass plays a special role in coal mining in Russia. The region produces the largest share of coal, thus it is one of the most promising for the development of technologies and mechanical engineering in this area of ​​​​activity. World experience of other countries has shown how to most effectively overcome economic difficulties. To do this, it is necessary to search for and master various technological areas, all this will help to create competitiveness of products under patent protection. The conducted studies will help to draw the attention of enterprises to the reasons for the termination of patents, thereby significantly improving the support and development of patents not only in the field of mining engineering, but also in other various sectors of the economy.
