Abstract: The relevance of the research topic is determined by the need to modify the main methodological approaches to the problem of the firm’s intellectuality in the context of accelerated digitalization of the economy and robotization of production. The purpose of the study is to identify and develop the universal-evolutionary direction of the theory of the intellectual firm. Methodology: the idea of ​​​​the integrity and interconnection of the living and the nonliving, the concept of universal evolutionism by N.N. Moiseev, comparative analysis. Results: the solved problem of correlating the intelligence of the firm’s employees with artificial intelligence in the theory of the intellectual firm and its practical application is recognized as existential – determining the prospects for the existence of intellectual workers. A broad aspect of the problem is revealed as a correlation of the living and nonliving components of the intellectual block of the firm. The rapid formation of the technosphere as a material artificial world in the digital economy is not accompanied not only by the spiritual and moral development of man, but also by his cognitive improvement, moreover, the cognitive overload causes unjustified stress. Conclusions. Based on the results of the analysis, the universal-evolutionary approach to the development of the theory of the intellectual firm is proposed, which implements the idea of ​​a co-evolutionary relationship between natural and artificial intelligence. The scientific novelty of the study is that for the first time, based on the concept of universal evolutionism by N.N. Moiseev, the most acceptable ratio of natural and artificial intelligence for all participants in the process of intellectualization of the firm is considered in the context of the development of the theory of the intellectual firm.
