Abstract: The article is devoted to the study of the essence of digital transformation of the service sector. Currently, digital transformation permeates all spheres of society, while the fastest pace of digital transformation covers the service sector. The purpose of the study is to determine the content, specifics and main directions of digital transformation of entities in the service sector. In this regard, it becomes necessary to conduct an in-depth study of the digital transformation of the service sector due to the ambiguity of the influence of digital technologies on modern life, in connection with which the purpose of the study is to determine the essence of digital transformation of the service sector. The study analyzed various approaches to understanding the digital transformation of the service sector. The author's vision of the digital transformation of the service sector is presented, as well as seven directions for transforming an organization from traditionally analog to progressively digital. The Conclusion provides a general vision of the author's concept of digitalization of the service sector of the modern economy, a conclusion is made about its dual - both positive and negative role in the development of organizations in the service sector; At the same time, failure to follow technological progress can be much more dangerous than the sum of the negative factors of digital transformation.
