Abstract: The issue of improving the directions of state regulation of the agro-industrial sector is being updated under the influence of external and internal factors. The effectiveness of the development of the agro-industrial complex largely depends on the direction and forms of government support. The level of food security directly depends on the performance of the country’s agro-industrial complex. The main indicator of such measures is the achievement of rational consumption standards. The article is devoted to improving the directions of state regulation of the agro-industrial complex through the development of own production and their implementation in the industrial region (using the example of the Kemerovo region - Kuzbass). State regulation of the agro-industrial complex includes a set of measures that have different sources and purposes. However, their common goal should be not only to regulate the activities of agricultural organizations, but also to ensure sustainable development of rural areas.
