Abstract: The article examines threats to Russia's economic security, specific to the conditions of strengthening external sanctions of the “second wave” of 2022-2023. The criteria for economic security are presented and their weak connection with technological limitations created by unfriendly countries for the Russian economy is noted. The import dependence of the Russian economy is analyzed, the current packages of sanctions are considered, and the damage from them for various sectors of the economy is highlighted. Based on the results of the analysis, the main long-term threats to Russia's economic security in the context of increasing sanctions pressure were identified, which included technological backwardness, a reduction in exports of products from the manufacturing and high-tech sectors, and accelerating cost inflation. In general, the analysis of threats to economic security under sanctions presented in the article allows us to take into account those factors limiting economic growth that stem from the breakdown of investment, production, market, innovation and cooperation ties.
