Abstract: The article is devoted to the use of rights to the results of intellectual activity in special investment contracts (SIC). The purpose of this study is to assess the prospects of using the SIC mechanism for the active implementation of the results of intellectual activity in the real sector of the Russian economy. The authors have studied and systematized the regulatory framework of the special investment con-tract mechanism, including aspects of intellectual property. Based on foreign ex-perience in the implementation of regulatory contracts similar to SICs, the possibil-ities and limitations of this tool for stimulating the development and implementation of the results of intellectual activity (RIA) in investment projects are shown. The analysis of the legal acts regulating the SIC and the data of the SIC public register allowed the authors to analyze in detail the experience of implementation and identify the stages of the formation of the SIC in Russia in the period from 2014 to 2023. The article also provides a comparative description of two basic models of a special investment contract implemented in Russia: SIC 1.0 and SIC 2.0, with the main emphasis on the possibilities and limitations of using the results of intellectual activity in these models. The authors concluded that SIC 2.0 more stimulates the subjects of investment activity to introduce innovations.
