Abstract: The ESG agenda has been actively implemented in the business strategies of Russian companies in recent years: environmental projects are being created, “green” financial instruments are being issued, etc. In connection with the growing popularity of this principle in doing business in Russia, it is important today to analyze the state of the ESG market, identify problems and development prospects, and show the impact of following the principles of ESG on the investment attractiveness of Russian companies. The paper highlights the main areas of application of the ESG principles in Russia, reveals the components of ESG and factors influencing investment activity, considers the main instruments of ESG financing in Russia, identifies trends and problem areas in the implementation of the ESG agenda in corporate strategies. The author systematizes the ESG criteria, and also analyzes the information received from rating agencies such as: RAEX-Europe, Expert RA. The information base of the study is the scientific work of the National Research University Higher School of Economics, the Research Financial Institute of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, the statistics of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, VEB.RF and RBC, as well as statistical data from TradingView investment sites.
