Abstract: The issues of mathematical modeling of the task of assessing the economic security of the functioning of an organization in a market environment are considered, taking into account its information security component based on standard indicators of the economic efficiency of investment projects. The task of assessing the information security of an organization correlates with the problem of assessing information technology projects. As the main hypothesis, the assumption is considered that it is possible to assess the information and economic security of an organization as an assessment of the effectiveness of an investment project, one of the cost items of which is the cost of avoiding security risks, which makes it possible to evaluate its effectiveness by standard means of financial analysis. The necessity of using optimization models and methods for solving the problems of information and economic security in the organization is emphasized. A mathematical model has been developed in the form of a two-criterion linear programming problem, which allows both the assessment of the economic potential and the minimization of the risks of information security threats to a cost-effective organization. A description of the limitations and criteria of the model with an indication of the method of its analysis is given. The conclusion is made about the possibility of using a mathematical model of information and economic security as a component in the analysis of the investment attractiveness of socio-economic systems and, in particular, organizations producing goods and services.
