Abstract: The article presents an analysis of approaches to the study of the problem of in-creasing the role of the manufacturing sector in the industrial region (on the ex-ample of the Tomsk region). The dynamics of production in the basic types of manufacturing industries is considered, the level of innovative activity in it is ana-lyzed, as well as the costs of innovative activity in manufacturing organizations. The research methodology includes a structural analysis of the innovative activities of regional enterprises in post-pandemic conditions, in the process of strengthening external sanctions and the transition to import substitution. The technological space of the region, being a multidimensional concept, is explored not only in terms of specific production technologies and equipment, but also through the analysis of social technologies, including institutional, organizational and information technologies. Meanwhile, in conditions of increased turbulence in the economy associated with the financial crisis, the COVID-19 pandemic, sanctions and other external influences, the production of goods and services is an essential element of the technological space of the region, ensuring the intersection of the elements of the above-mentioned spaces. Particular attention is paid to the investment factor in the technological modernization of the manufacturing industry in the region.
