Abstract: The relevance of the study is dictated by the need for a clear, transparent proce-dure for evaluating the results of intellectual activity (RIA). The purpose of this study is to systematize, update and adapt the methodological and organizational aspects of the assessment of RIA in relation to coal industry enterprises (on the example of Kuzbass), including the development of evaluation regulations. The methodological basis of the research is the use of general scientific methods: analysis, systematization and classification. The use of a systematic approach in assessing the cost of the RIA provides aggregation of information on the specifics of the application of various approaches / methods of evaluation, their limitations / features, taking into account the totality of various factors. As a result of the conducted research, based on the study and systematization of regulatory and scientific literature, the authors identified the need to improve the mechanism for assessing the cost of the RIA in the coal industry, based on its specifics. The formulated regional and sectoral features in the field of intellectual property are taken into account in the proposed by the authors of the RIA evaluation regulations. The RIA evaluation regulations include three basic elements: 1) evaluation goals and principles; 2) evaluation algorithm; 3) methodological foundations of analysis and forecasting. In the developed evaluation algorithm, organizational-managerial and information-analytical contours are highlighted, which makes it possible to adapt the assessment to the specifics of the intellectual property sphere in the coal-mining region. The evaluation of the value of the RIA is an important stage in the commercialization of intellectual property, therefore, increasing the objectivity and adequacy of the assessment, its quality through the application of the developed evaluation regulations will favorably affect the formation and development of the intellectual property market in the region, ensuring the growth of its innovative potential.
