Abstract: The economic security of a state whose economy is largely integrated into the world economy is largely determined by the security of its foreign trade relations. The current condition of the Russian economy cannot be considered completely safe, both in terms of the impact of external shocks and internal economic processes related to production, investment, supply and demand, and income distribution. The presence of a significant number of threats coming from the world market with its high volatility, as well as from the subjective actions of foreign states in relation to international trade (trade wars, sanctions), makes it highly relevant and timely to analyze the aspects of Russia's economic security related to foreign trade activities, to estimate its role in ensuring access to the trajectory of sustainable economic growth. The threats to economic security that arise today in the field of foreign trade are high, therefore, they require adjustments in the economic policy of the state, taking into account both world experience and Russian specifics.
