Abstract: The article analyzes the possibility of conducting research on the competitive environment and assessing the potential effect of the introduction of promising technological solutions based on the use of patent landscapes. The authors suggest that the oriented adaptation of patent analytics tools will solve a large-scale scientific problem - to identify patterns in the process of conducting patent research and building patent landscapes on this basis. The relevance of the study lies in the possibility and necessity of using patent analytics as a tool for generating growth points for high-tech sectors of the economy. The study is based on an analysis of the methodological approaches to patent research existing in Russian and world practice as the basis for their visualization of results in the form of patent landscapes. The object of the study is the system of interrelations and inter-dependencies that arise between patent research and the construction of a patent landscape. The subject of the study is the process of preparing and using patent analytics as a promising tool for forming growth points for high-tech sectors of the economy.
