Abstract: The staffing of the innovative economy that is developing today cannot remain aloof from the process of saturation of the production of goods and services with new knowledge, and, accordingly, from the expansion of the layer of professionals capable of carrying out research activities outside universities and research insti-tutes. Under these conditions, the key to the success of innovative development is the adaptation of the market of educational services to it, especially the higher education segment. The complication of scientific support for the processes of development and implementation of innovations, the deepening of the division of labor in the research field update the analysis of the conditions and ways of im-plementing an interdisciplinary approach in training personnel for the innovation economy, effectively carrying out scientific collaboration with representatives of different fields of scientific knowledge. In accordance with this, the purpose of this article is to analyze an interdisciplinary approach to the training of scientific per-sonnel for an innovative economy, which makes it possible to bring the educational services of universities to a new level of competitiveness. Tasks related to this goal include determining the place of interdisciplinarity in the training of modern scientific personnel, revealing its connection with competencies formed in the course of university training, and identifying methods for forming these competencies. The solution of the tasks set will be facilitated by the formation of an appropriate educational environment and content that takes into account the prospects for research support for the development of an innovative economy.
