Abstract: The study of the main directions of development of the agro-industrial complex of an industrial region on an innovative basis is largely due to modern trends in its functioning in conditions when the main accents of attracting investments and state support are shifted to such areas as the mining and processing industries of the economy, and in this direction they are limited. However, the improvement of the mechanism for the development of agriculture, food and processing industries in industrial-type regions is a key factor not only for the food supply of the region's population, but also for its further socio-economic development.
