Abstract: The social responsibility of coal enterprises takes into account four criteria: economic, legal, ethical, and taking responsibility (improving the welfare of society and the quality of life). Developing coal enterprises bear social responsibility to the society in which they operate, for ensuring efficiency, employment, profit and compliance with the law. In accordance with the requirements of the Russian government, the long-term program for the development of the Russian coal industry until 2030 defines measures to improve the effectiveness of social partnership in the coal industry and the social responsibility of coal companies. Social responsibility brings more benefits to society and the coal company itself if the direction of socially responsible work logically "fits" into the company's strategy, if the company is ready to allocate resources for socially responsible work and if the company knows how to effectively communicate to society about its achievements in this field. This will allow the coal mining industry to become attractive to domestic and foreign investors.
