Abstract: The issues of strategic development of the agro-industrial complex of the industrial region are actualized under the influence of external and internal factors. The article discusses the prospects for the development of the agro-industrial complex of the Kemerovo region – Kuzbass. According to the authors, taking into account the current conditions for the functioning of the agro-industrial complex in the industrial region, its further intensive development and increase in competitiveness is possible only on an innovative basis. The authors developed scenarios for the development of the agro-industrial complex of the Kemerovo region – Kuzbass and built a forecast for the production and processing of agricultural products. The “pessimistic” scenario for the development of the agro-industrial complex of the industrial region provides that there will be no increase in agricultural production, the “neutral / inertial” scenario suggests increasing production and processing, and opening several enterprises for deep processing of agricultural raw materials. The "optimistic / innovative" scenario proposed by the authors stipulates that by attracting investments, agricultural production will be modernized, the processing of agricultural raw materials will reach full capacity, with increase the competitiveness of the region's agro-industrial complex and improve the social-and-economic situation.
