Abstract: The Anniversary issue of the scientific and practical journal "Economics and Inno-vation Management" marks a certain stage in the development of economic re-search schools of T.F. Gorbachev Kuzbass State Technical University, attracting the attention of the domestic and foreign communities of researchers. The pages of the journal reflect and obtain an impulse for further discussion of the issues of innovative development of the real, financial, and social sectors and ways to solve them, the latest trends in the technological modernization of the economy and society, economic security, growth of human capital and social well-being. At the same time, the coming anniversary makes one think about the origins of the university economic research schools, dating back to the 1950-1970s, and give gratitude to their founders, who laid the glorious traditions of training economists for the industries of Kuzbass and Western Siberia, and the study of economic problems of their development.
