Abstract: Issues of financial accessibility are becoming increasingly relevant, since it is the level of accessibility that largely testifies to the development trajectory of both the country's financial services market and its individual territories. In this regard, monitoring, assessing the state, identifying barriers and developing directions for increasing financial affordability are becoming the most urgent tasks for both the financial market regulator and regional authorities. The article provides an analysis of the results of a sociological survey of the population of the Kemerovo region - Kuzbass on issues of financial accessibility and barriers that are currently taking place. A review of existing approaches to assessing the level of financial accessibility was carried out, which allowed to determine the main directions of increasing financial accessibility. Among the main ones are: increasing physical accessibility, accessibility in remote access, cost, quality and variety of financial services. Analysis of the results of a sociological survey showed that the most popular are banking and insurance services. The implemented approach to assessing and analyzing the demand for financial services can be recommended for use in other regions.
