Abstract: The increasing relevance of the study of structural changes in the economy is connected with the upcoming of new industrial revolution, modification of the conditions of functioning of economic systems, radical changes in the essence and factors of structural shifts. The raw materials export model currently being implemented has a negative impact on the structural development of the economy, accompanied by negative structural shifts in industrial production, high-tech sector, by deformation of investment mechanism, and by innovative pause. At the same time, neoliberal economic policies have proved to be untenable in the face of increased imbalance, fluctuation and high entropy of market processes. The dynamics of the structure of the economy is more expressed through the category of structural shift. The article analyzed various scientific approaches to the study of the economy structure, factors determining structural shifts, mechanisms for managing structural changes. Methodological guidelines for the development of the national economy in the conditions of technological transition have been defined.
