Abstract: The study of women’s economic activity, their sectoral structure and professional composition is an essential component in the analysis of the female population de-velopment. The ratio of the number of economically active and non-active persons in the female population gives an idea of the extent of women’s participation in pro-duction, demonstrates the balance between women who had an independent source of livelihood and did not have it. Given the characteristic of economic activity and professionally – sectoral structure of female population of Western Siberia in the 1920s. The territorial bounds of the investigation cover Western Siberia in the borders of present-day Altai Territory, the Altai Republic, Novosibirsk Region, Omsk Region, Kemerovo Region and Tomsk Region considering territorial-and-adminis-trative changes, which took place in Siberia.
