Abstract: The period from the end of the 20th century for higher education institutions is con-nected with their reform all around the world. The changes have significantly af-fected the universities of Russia. Under the new conditions, the domestic education system, while preserving its traditions and identity, cannot stay away from the world educational trends, since any system closed from the best practices is not capable of effective development. The modern level of development of information technol-ogies allows opening wide access to information practically anywhere in the world, which contributes to the universalization and globalization of higher education and ensures the transmission of knowledge from advanced educational organizations. The transformation of the national higher school is conditioned by the need for bringing it in line with the changed conditions for the development of the economy, science, education, and society as a whole. At the same time, the intensively developing process of integration and internation-alization of the sphere of providing educational services inevitably sets new require-ments in the face of increasing international competition. Education, being the main tool for the development of the individual, must adapt to the modern demands of society, which implies the introduction of innovations in the learning process. Mod-ern education is inherent in a number of contradictions associated with outdated approaches and methods, which over time are only exacerbated. Based on this, the issues of introducing innovations in education remain very relevant.
