Abstract: In modern conditions in the Kemerovo region (rural areas) there is a number of problems setting the direction vector for the tasks of sustainable social-and-eco-nomic development and making the state and municipal authorities to solve them in cooperation with businesses. The issues of not just improving the life quality in rural areas, but first of all ensuring their sustainable social-and-economic develop-ment have become obvious in given political and social conditions. Today, it is nec-essary to introduce new progressive management technologies to replace tradi-tional forms of governance, the introduction of more effective management tools that will be characterized by creativity and rationalization. Economic sustainability of rural areas is possible with their constant adjustment to changing internal and external environment. Social responsibility of business operating in these areas is becoming a natural need and the factor of their development. Under these circum-stances, it is particularly important to assess the impact of labor force on the devel-opment of rural territories, taking into account the implementation of the principles of businesses’ social responsibility. This paper presents an analysis of rural territo-ries’ workforce in the Kemerovo region, shows the contradictions and problems caused by transport, as well as housing and communal living conditions, the condi-tions of getting education by the children of rural working people, etc.
