Abstract: So far, the problem of poverty remains the most urgent issue that any state faces. Despite all the efforts of developed countries to find the ways of poverty reducing, under the current macroeconomic conditions, the scale of this negative phenomenon is only expanding. This is also valid for Russian economy. Therefore, the reduction of poverty level for Russia requires a study of the experience of countries that have achieved some success in this problem resolving. This article examines the system of social support for the population in Germany and contains a conclusion of its forms’ adaptation perspectives in Russia. The author observed the main bene-fits that have a positive impact on reducing the risk of poverty in the country. In particular, the sections of the German Social Code, as well as the conditions for the payment of parental bene-fits (basic parental benefit and “the benefit plus”), and unemployment benefits (I and II) were analyzed in detail. Particular attention is paid to the consideration of poverty risk reduction for working members of society. The conclusion is justified that the adaptation of Germany's expe-rience to Russian reality can contribute to reducing the poverty level in the country.
