Abstract: The article gives a brief description of the current situation in Kuzbass electric power system, describes the main strategic goals and tasks of the electric grid companies in the Kemerovo region. The investment activity, its main goals, and the ways to achieve them are considered as the main tool for the implementation of strategic objectives for the electric grid company. The authors analyzed the perspective development of Kuzbass energy system, the participation of regional executive authorities in creating the development programs taking into account the existing legislation. In the result of the legislative acts’ analysis the problems of the perspective development of the electric power system within the investment activities in the Kemerovo region were defined. The conclusions about the possibility of solving these problems taking into ac-count changes in the legislative acts for the period until 2018 were made.
